Heska's

It's choices like these that we find ourselves inspired. The sun has gone only to bring a cool, damp mist over the mountains which is perfect for a morning stay in bed, window cracked for a cool breeze. After a few chapters from The Help, our first local ladies' book club read, I decide it's time to get moving so I leave the house and take the long road down to a coffee shop I've heard so much about.

I am greeted by a woman who fits the Pacific-Asian decor of the shop, with the Heska's signs all around I begin to wonder if this women who has greeted me with the adoringly imperfect smile is Heska. An orange and brown decor with tropical flowers peeking through open windows I find to be incredibly inviting. How are you doing? she asks me. Good, thank you.

She hands me tea in a brown mortar mug and I take the tea diffuser in the other hand as I see it seeping the peppermint into near-boiling water. She points at the internet code written up on the wall: Normanthecat.

Lori must know about this place, she would absolutely love it. She is nanny-ing for Cooper today though so a postponed call lets me have time to think about having a bed and breakfast/coffee shop that could be decorated and inspired by Lori and myself.
